I took the opportunity to enjoy a taper week by listening to the following podcast about the relationship between ultra running and the “Pain Cave”. The following findings pertain to the podcast hosted by Jason Koop with Llyod Emeka. The topic – the pain cave: understanding pain in ultrarunning.

In the realm of ultrarunning, pain is an inevitable companion. Whether it’s the burning sensation in your muscles, the aching joints, or the mental struggle to keep pushing forward, pain is a constant presence that every ultrarunner must learn to navigate. Lloyd Emeka, with his unique blend of experience in business administration, marketing, and sport psychology, has dedicated significant time to understanding this multifaceted phenomenon. Lloyd’s Academic and Professional Journey

Lloyd’s journey began with a BA (Hons) in Business Administration from Staffordshire University and an MSc in Marketing Management from Aston University. For several years, he thrived in the advertising industry, honing skills that would later prove beneficial in his academic and psychological pursuits. However, in 2016, he decided to shift gears and delve into a field that had long fascinated him: psychology.
